For International Women’s Day, we wanted to share the stories of the women who inspire us in the digital marketing space.

Claire Daniels, CEO of Trio Media
Originally joining Trio Media in 2018, Claire became the CEO of Trio Media in 2020 and has taken the team from strength to strength. Recognised as CEO of the Year by CEO Monthly in November 2020, Claire is on a mission to help small and large businesses grow their digital marketing channels and champion women in the workplace.
As part of this work, Claire is part of two podcasts called The Northstar Podcast and Bobble Pod. The Northstar Podcast covers themes on finding a purposeful career and starting up a business, while Bobble Pod focuses on the latest digital marketing insights.

Chief Creative Officer of Grey Africa, Fran Luckin
Fran Luckin is one of the most influential South African women in advertising, picking up a string of awards for her marketing efforts and insights.
The Chief Creative Officer (CCO) of Grey Africa, a leading digital agency, Luckin is an expert in digital storytelling and has judged a wide range of creative awards such as the Cannes Lions Film Jury and the Canes Outdoor Jury.
Luckin started her marketing journey in 1997 as a copywriter at The Jupiter Drawing Room. In three short years she’d become the Creative Director. From there, she joined Ogilvy Johannesburg in 2003 as the Executive Creative Director and went on to become the CCO of Grey Africa in 2016. Her star continues to rise.
Head Of Facebook Africa, Nunu Ntshingila
Another powerful figure in the advertising space, Nunu Ntshingila was born in Soweto, South Africa and started her marketing career at Ogilvy & Mather as an account executive.
A three-month mentorship with a woman named Marilyn Marx turned into six months and Ntishingila continued to build on her skills, setting the foundation for future success. Years later, she became the CEO of Ogilvy and Mathers South Africa, proving that everything comes full circle.
In 2015, she became the Head of Facebook Africa, overseeing rapid expansion in multiple areas of the social media giant. Ntishingila’s story is inspiring, and she continues to elevate women in her home country and beyond.
Account executive Nichola King picked fitness influencer Grace Beverley and Carrie Rose, founder of creative agency Rise at Seven.

A leading authority in the world of sustainable fashion, Grace Beverley has accomplished a lot in a short amount of time. As a student at St Peter’s College in Oxford, she founded a business that made vegan-friendly resistance bands using money that she’d made from partnering with other brands as an Instagram influencer.
From there, she continued to make a name for herself by setting up two more brands called TALA and Shreddy. TALA provides sustainable activewear and athleisure, while Shreddy is a fitness app and equipment business where users have access to meal plans and branded fitness products.
Beverley’s business acumen landed her a spot on the 2020 Forbes 30 under 30’s retail and eCommerce list. She’s also the winner of the London’s Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2019 award.
Carrie Rose, Creative Director of Rise at Seven
A driving force behind the SEO agency Rise at Seven, Carrie Rose has spearheaded a business with co-founder Stephen Kenwright that’s grown rapidly in a short amount of time.
Founded in 2019, Rise At Seven has already added heavy hitters like Misguided, Matalan and Halfords to its portfolio and that growth has a lot to do with Rose’s approach to digital marketing and her focus on technical SEO.
Rose’s decision to focus on a specialist agency approach has earned her many awards, which include Campaign Magazine’s 2020 30 under 30 list and the Content Marketing Association’s Rising Star accolade.
Claire chose American philanthropist and digital marketing expert Sheryl Sandberg as her inspiration.

The first woman to serve on the Board of Directors at Facebook and the former Vice President of Global Online Sales at Google, Sandberg has made a career out of pushing the envelope and being an advocate for empowering women in business.
This is especially true with LeanIn.Org, a foundation Sandburg set up in the aftermath of her book Lean In: Women, Work and the Will to Lead. LeanIn was founded to help women achieve their career goals through building communities across the world and providing ongoing support.
Her other work includes sponsoring the Ban Bossy campaign, an initiative that was created to discourage the word ‘bossy’ for its perceived harmful effects on young girls.
