It’s time for another edition of meet the team! Please welcome, Sam Briggs, our Front End Developer who joined the team back in January and has been working on building and maintaining websites for our client base.
Read on to hear from Sam about how his first few months have gone and read his tips for getting into a web developer role.
What is your day-to-day role at Trio Media?
My role specialises in all things web development. I build new websites as well as help maintain and improve live websites. When improving them, I find ways to improve time, speed and overall user experience so it’s easier for the user to navigate our client’s websites.
What did you use to do before joining Trio?
Before coming to Trio, I worked in different digital marketing agencies alongside working freelance as a Shopify and WordPress Developer.
What are some of your interests outside of work?
I’d say I’m a really active person. I enjoy running and walking and spending a lot of time with my family. I’m also a big Nottingham Forest fan and love going to watch them play.
What made you want to get into web development?
When I was at university, I studied Digital Media Design and was able to explore different types of media to work with. One was to do with websites which is where I found my love for building them. I really enjoy coding and how you start with a blank screen and transform it into a living site for people to interact with.
What have you enjoyed about working at Trio so far?
The last few months have flown by and I’ve enjoyed being stuck into lots of different, exciting projects for our clients. Even though I’m based at home, I’ve still managed to feel welcomed by the team who have all been really nice.
What advice would you give to someone interested in working in web development?
My top tip is not to be afraid to ask questions. In a technical role, you need to know what you’re doing is correct so make sure you always keep on top of changes in the industry and push yourself to learn new skills before you fall behind.
