A fresh and fun website redesign & build for chartered accountants

How refreshed branding and a new website helped Syers McGill stand out in a sea of generic accountant websites

We’ve partnered with Syers McGill for several years, supporting them across various digital projects. This time, they came to us ready for change and a refresh. Their previous website had served them well, but had grown dated and no longer reflected who they are as a team.

Syers McGill wanted to elevate their online presence to match the quality of service they deliver every day by developing a brand-new website and a refreshed visual identity that truly represents who they are.

Like many chartered accountants’ websites, their current website blended into the background, but they wanted something a bit different. So, Trio delivered a site that stood out rather than blended in.

SyersMcGill evolution

Rebranding for the better

We began by evolving the Syers McGill brand. We developed updated brand guidelines, reimaged their logo and created a more contemporary visual identity that better reflects who they are today. We always value creative freedom, and Syers McGill trusted us to explore ideas within realistic and professional parameters.

As part of the rebrand, we introduced fresh new colours into their previously stale white-and-blue palette, injecting energy and giving the brand greater flexibility across both digital and print, while still maintaining the credibility expected from a chartered accountancy firm.

Typography was carefully reconsidered, selecting strong, clean typefaces that feel modern and confident without becoming corporate or cold. Clear hierarchy and thoughtful spacing ensure the brand feels structured and reassuring.

To bring personality into the visual system, we introduced subtle design elements that nod to the world of accounting. Mathematical symbols, such as division marks, are used as understated graphic devices, while a checkered background effect takes inspiration from traditional accounting books. The result is a brand that feels professional, distinctive and far from generic.

A website design as approachable as the team behind it

The new website was designed to feel friendly, human, and trustworthy: three qualities the Syers McGill team was passionate about communicating.

For users researching accounting services, it can feel overwhelming and draining. The psychology of the user experience matters. So we created a design that feels calm yet bright, structured and reassuring, while clearly presenting their services in a digestible way.

Cleancut layouts, attractive branding and modular sections ensure the site feels modern without becoming overly complex.

How many chartered accountant websites do you know that genuinely stand out? Most blend into one another. But not this one.
