It’s time for another edition of Meet The Team and the person in the hotseat today is our account executive El Craig. Since joining Trio Media, El has enjoyed getting stuck into working with a range of clients and improving their digital marketing knowledge.

Read on to learn more about how she got into digital marketing and how her first month at Trio has gone.

What is your day to-to-day role at Trio Media?

My role as an Account Executive spans over several areas. From training on areas I want to learn more about, such as Google Ads, to doing social audits of clients, creating content for clients, designing webpages, helping with websites and not to forget, bullying Ben into doing TikToks.

What are some of your interests outside of work?

I really enjoy going to the gym, digital illustration and cooking yummy recipes I’ve found online!

What did you use to do before joining Trio?

Before joining Trio, I was doing a MA in Advertising and Design at Leeds University. I was also working part time for a student marketing agency, working with content creators and influencers on big projects on campus and on social media.

In addition, I worked as a content creator for big brands such as Co-op, Lovehoney, Lookfantastic and more which was a great way to get some insight into the social media marketing world.

What made you want to get into digital marketing?

My first step into digital marketing was when I had various part-time roles as a student ambassador. I had always been interested in the digital side of things but never really considered marketing.

It was during this time that I learned more about social media marketing and then went onto Google Digital Garage to learn more about it and realised I really enjoyed learning about it.

I then did a summer placement at a digital marketing agency in my hometown and really enjoyed learning about all the various different aspects involved from social media marketing to development and more.

What is it about Trio Media that gets you excited about the work culture?

The thing I really love about Trio is just that everyone seems like a family here, but not in the cliche way – a genuine way. There’s such a good vibe in the office and I love the flexibility that Trio supports.

The idea of the 4-day week sounds really exciting too and hopefully, I’ll be able to experience that, depending on whether Trio considers extending the trial!

What’s been the highlight of your first month at Trio?

I can’t pick one particular highlight of my month as there have been so many moments that have been highlighted.

One of my favourites was doing social audits on various potential clients and even going on calls and visiting them to discuss plans with them. It was really exciting to see that my understanding of their digital and social marketing needs was being communicated and developed with a potential client.

I’ve also just really loved how much I’ve laughed in this last month.

What kind of advice would you offer to anyone who’s interested in working in the digital marketing industry?

Experience!

I think that through various experiences, whether that be through online courses or work experience or freelance work, I found my passion for the industry and worked out what I enjoyed and what I wanted to focus on or learn more about.

I would say throw yourself into it and try to get some experience to see how you like it and go from there
