LPD Group, a family-run business of designer furniture and doors, recently rebranded LPD Furniture. Now called LPD Home, this design-led furniture trade supplier came to Trio with a clear brief: to develop a website that would position them as a leader in an accessible style.
So, we established LPD Home’s new brand through a custom WordPress website, compelling web copy and seamless functionality to enhance the user experience (UX).
LPD Home’s rebranding moved away from offering just ‘the essentials’ to being ‘that stylish something’ every homeowner wants. The website at the time didn’t match the brand’s aesthetic allure or appeal to end consumers. Despite being trade only, consumers would still visit LPD Home’s website to view their furniture before buying through retailers.
Along with their rebrand, LPD Home’s in-house design team has created several new collections, with more launching in the coming years. The website had to accommodate this growth and inspire end consumers and trade buyers to choose them.
The website had to guide end-consumers in purchasing LPD Home’s furniture through retailers. Since this conversion happens indirectly, the overall success would be measured over a longer period, focusing on increased sales and higher order values from LPD’s stockists.
Web design and development
LPD Home needed a refined look and feel to match its design-led approach to premium furnishing. Their original website had no clear brand identity, so after a discovery session, we got to know the new LPD Home and the old version they were leaving behind.
Our Head of Design, Gary Hanna, created wireframes to show how users navigate from the homepage to the collection and product pages. We considered mobile from the get-go so the designs would be accessible for every screen size.
With the approved wireframes and sitemap, we applied LPD Home’s branding across several components, which could be built up and used across any page. This flexibility allows the LPD team to easily update the site as needed.
The website design had to appeal to end consumers and trade buyers, so we switched from a traditional trade site to a B2C interface. While LPD already had a strong trade presence, the new approach prioritised building brand awareness with end consumers and influencing their off-site purchasing decisions.
The fresh, modern, minimalistic design showcases high-quality CGI and lifestyle photography to inspire audiences and reframe LPD Home’s story. Each page comes with contact and email sign-up forms, effectively improving their on-page conversion rate.
We moved on to the build, which involved several technical integrations to make the website come to life. We first integrated an API feed to communicate with WooCommerce so that LPD Home’s product database could connect to the site.
Once connected, the API would sync product data and imagery to the back end and update as products are removed, edited or added. This custom API integration required extensive testing from both our team and LPD. Together, we tested every eventuality and proactively mitigated risks as they were discovered.
Copywriting
We let the image-led design take centre focus with compelling copy that inspires users and encourages them to convert. Our messaging was consistent, whether for trade or end consumers – LPD Home is the destination for stylish, accessible, on-trend furniture.
We conducted competitor and market research along with sessions with the LPD team to understand their positioning. Using this insight, our copywriter worked on several pages of copy, perfecting LPD’s tone of voice and messaging.
While we focused heavily on visuals, we prioritised SEO, striking a balance many design-first brands often overlook. The new copy is both inspirational and informative, effectively showcasing LPD Home’s expert, design-led approach.
The new LPD Home website is a testament to a successful collaboration. Together, we crafted a beautiful, user-focused site with elevated UX and compelling messaging. The LPD team was impressed from the outset and thrilled to see their brand come to life in such an impactful way.
