Question: How many clicks does a customer have to do before finding a call-to-action on your website?
What are Call-to-actions?
Call to actions are a piece of content intended to induce a viewer, reader or listener to perform a specific act, typically taking the form of an instruction or directive. Usually a call to action says, ‘call now’ or ‘contact us today for a free quote’ or ‘sign up’. A call-to-action needs to be visible on every page of your website, so that whenever a customer see’s something they like on one of your pages they can instantly contact you to ask a question or arrange an enquiry. Ideally, call-to-actions should also be static as the user scrolls down through your pages. A great example of this, is Practice Loan Company, as you can see, the top navigation bar is static with the contact number shown at all times, as well as this, there are 5 call-to-actions throughout the page, ‘Apply Online’, ‘Find out more’, ‘Request a Call back’, ‘Apply Now’, allowing the user to easily get in touch should they wish.
Your Facebook fan page should not be used as your website. You should be controlling the messages you send your potential customers by having a well-designed website that shows them who you are. If you don’t have a website, the likelihood is that your potential customers will go to somebody else that does. Why? Many start-ups often create a Facebook page until they start making a profit to invest into a website, which unfortunately means, no website makes you look less professional.
What is HTTPs?
Are you spooked by the thought of your website being insecure? HTTPS stands for ‘Hyper Text Transport Protocol Secure’. This is the same thing as HTTP, bus uses an SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) for security purposes…. Therefore, secure websites use the HTTPS protocol to encrypt the data being sent back and forth with SSL encryption. Since GDPR was announced in April 2018, your website needs to be secure. Google are cracking down on none-secure website and will soon start to show your website like this to potential customers…
